iGroupDecision
|History
The development of iGDSS started in the context of an internal research project in 2000, aimed to achieve a group decision support module integrated within a knowledge management platform. Furthermore, iGDSS was set up as a cross-platform software system, targeted at helping decision makers with structured and unstructured tasks, via computer-mediated collaborative workspaces. The product has been validated internally, while being used as a decisional instrument for software development processes. On this occasion, the categories for group decision problems have been extended from the planning and negotiation of software packages to collaborative elaboration of reports and results obtained at the time of the evaluation.
iGDSS was introduced into the market in the middle of 2005, its name standing for "intelligent / innovative group decision making".
Within the frameworks of a national research project, iGDSS has been customized for the public administration and for the academic environment, with an aim to increase awareness of collaborative democracy.
From 2006, iGDSS is being used as an input for FP6 - DiFac Project, in the context of the component to be developed by Ropardo S.R.L - Collaboration Manager.
